JACK LONDON
FAMILY NEWS
Thank
You to Karen Newell and Misty Matulich for a fantastic Movie Night. Kung Fu Panda was such a fun movie. Sing it
with me: “Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
. . .” The kids all enjoyed themselves (and many of the parents too!). What a great way to kick off our Thanksgiving
break!
The
POEF Superwalk was a big hit! Thank you
to Karen Newell for providing much-appreciated snacks & water for our
runners & walkers. Thank you, also,
to all the parents who volunteered at the event. The money raised will provide
bus service for future field trips for our students.
Come
on a Safari with us! Jack London is
hosting a BOOK FAIR in the Library from Monday, December 8th through Friday, December 12th, during
school hours. The Book Fair is so much
fun! It’s very rewarding to see the kids
get so excited about books. We will have
lots of really great books for all ages: picture books, reading books,
cookbooks, reference books, activity books, and more! There will also be chances to win raffle
prizes. Thursday, December 11th is the
Book Fair’s Winter Event for the whole
family. It’s the only day our Book Fair
is open late (from 3pm to 6pm). The
adults can shop in the Library while the kids make holiday cards & crafts
in the Project Room. Cookies & juice
will be served too.
For
those families who like to purchase gift cards through our eScrip program but
can never remember to turn those bi-weekly forms in, do we have news for
you! You can now visit our Online Mall
located on our website: jacklondonschool.org .
Just click on the “Fundraising” tab at the top then click “eScrip Online
Mall”. From there you have access to
over 1,000 merchants where you can shop directly from their websites! A percentage of what you spend goes directly
back to
The
Sixth Graders will be having a yummy tamale fundraiser in December. Proceeds will go to their Outdoor Education
program. Look for the flyer for more
information.
Our
next Jack London Family meeting is scheduled for Wednesday December 10th at 6:30pm in the Jack London Teacher’s
Lounge. Child care is available for
children over the age of 5 years. Please
come and be a part of the planning process. We’d love to hear your thoughts and
ideas for upcoming school events.
POEF
is looking for more parents to come to their monthly meetings. They are held on
the last Tuesday of every month at Schaefer Elementary. POEF is our district-wide group that supports
us and helps raise money for educational resources.
OH!
and don’t forget our 3rd Annual Crab Feed is
coming up in February. Tickets to this amazing event would make great
holiday gifts for someone you love!
Happy
Holidays from the
Jack
London Families Group!!!
